Haggis Anyone?

My Birthday was really great. We went to an amazing families home for dinner and had a great dinner. Then we had a delicious chocolate cake that almost looked to good to eat. We still have half of that cake that we will be bringing to district meeting tomorrow to share with the others in the district. I will have to get used to telling people that I am 19.
Since my comp is the district leader I went on exchanges with the zone leaders last Tuesday. It was pretty cool. His name is Elder Novotny and he is from the Czech Republic. He is pretty intense so it was good for me. We will also be going on exchanges with other missionaries in our district as well.
We had a pretty slow week last week. Our investigator with a date is hard to get in contact with, but will be finding her this week. The members are great in this branch and the mission leader is great as well.
I ate some Haggis for dinner on Saturday. I was a little worried because I know what is in it. But the members told me I had to at least try it and If I dont like it they had a backup plan. But it was really good. It looks terrible but I liked it.
Hope you all have a great week .

Here we go...

Bon Apetit!
All done...DELICIOUS!

Haggis, the national dish of Scotland, a type of pudding composed of the liver, heart, and lungs of a sheep (or other animal), minced and mixed with beef or mutton suet and oatmeal and seasoned with onioncayenne pepper, and other spices. The mixture is packed into a sheep's stomach and boiled

Birthday in Greenock

Hello Everyone!
Greenock is amazing. It is a pretty large area that covers a few islands as well! The branch is really great and loves missionaries. I am excited to be working with them. The branch mission leader is super great. We are teaching some incredible people and we will be finding many more. Greenock is smaller than Galway, so we will be knocking more doors.
My companion is Elder Swarts. Our names are going to confuse everyone. He is from South Africa! He is a really funny guy and loves to have fun. He has been serving his mission for about 15 months so I will be learning a lot. Instead of emailing from a nasty email cafe, I am emailing from an old historical library. There is a very different feel and I can tell that I am in a different country because I cannot understand anyone!!!!!! The accent is no joke. It is thick but it is fun to listen to. I will be trying to imitate it because it will be fun to use later.
My companion already told everyone that my birthday is coming up so we have an appointment with these members and apparently she used to be a professional baker. They asked me my favorite cake flavor so I am definitely looking forward to Friday
This area is going to be fantastic and I am Looking forward to spending a bit of time here.
Hope you have a great week!!

Goodbye Ireland...Hello Scotland!

Yo yo,
I am moving to SCOTLAND!!!! I will be traveling a while to a smaller town named Greenock. It is in the Lowlands of Scotland kind of close to Glasgow, but it is on the west coast. I am just destined to stay in the west coast wherever I am. There are so many great things that happened recently. We got an amazing chinese man to come to church and he accepted a baptismal date. Also the tattoo artist we are teaching is continuing to progress towards baptism. His date is the 23rd of April. There is a new Assistant to the President named Elder Lindsay and he is from Saugus!! He called me for my moves call and said he knew where I was from. We talked about it a bit, but I have to meet him so we can talk more.
It was pretty bitter sweet to visit all the great people here in Galway, but I have heard good things about my new area. Thats so crazy to hear about Spencer getting his call. That will be an amazing mission. There is a lot of new things happening and I will send a lot of new info about my new area next week.
Love you and have a great week.

The Spirit of Conference

Hello,
Conference was great! We had one of our investigators with us for the Sunday morning session. He really enjoyed it. The four of us missionaries had to figure out how to work the T.V because it uses internet. It took us like 30 minutes to figure it all out, and we had some technical difficulties, but it all worked out. We have watched all the sessions except for the last one. We will probably be watching it next week. I definitely had a much better experience listening to conference on my mission. There was so much I got out of it, and so much more to learn as I study it in the Ensign.
This Sunday we get our moves call, and I am feeling big changes coming. I wouldn't be surprised if I moved to some far off land. I want to go to Inverness up in Scotland so I can start the real reason i'm here, to find the loch ness monster. I will have my camera ready and take a high quality photo of it.
We are going to have a great week this week, and I will be making sure to visit all of the amazing people here in Galway just in case I leave!!
