Back To Ireland!

I am so proud of all of the boyz. There is a common theme that all missionaries that come from Southern California are automatically beasts. 

I AM MOVING AGAIN!?

I am on a new assignment. I will be whitewash training into a closed area.  

I am a little nervous, but I am very excited. I leave tonight for Edinburgh, pick up the baby and I am going to LondonDerry. It is a pretty big city in Northern Ireland. I am going to the third country of my mission. 

I was not expecting the move however I am totally excited to train a new missionary. 

We will be figuring out a new area and that should be fun.

Hey mama,

  Glasgow is going great! This transfer flew by! This Sunday is our moves call! It feels like i have been here 5 days not 5 weeks! We are pretty busy so that is why it went quickly. We have had a busy week. We had a conference in Edinburgh with all the missionaries in Scotland, it was fun to see all my past companions and friends. Got  to see all my previous companions (except for Elder Blosil he is home). We heard from a native Scotsman, Elder Herbertson of the Seventy. He shared some funny mission stories and we learned a lot about missionary work.

   Sunday we had a great day at church. We had a few of our friends there and it was testimony meeting. One of the people we brought to church bore his testimony. It was a cool experience. He then invited everyone in the ward to his baptism on the 27th and asked for advice. 

   Sunday evening we went back to Edinburgh for a fireside in the mission home. The previous mission president spoke a lot about the Book of Mormon. We had a couple recent converts and some investigators there as well.

We had a pretty exciting week and I am anxious about moves, but whatever happens, happens.

Hello Mama

Is the world still on fire? 

I am doing well, but I would be doing a lot better if I spoke fluent Chinese. There are so many Chinese students that are curious and want to learn about God. It can sometimes be hard to teach them the concept of a loving Heavenly Father when they have no concept of God. They are good though. They love to come to play ping pong at the church on our P day. It is a good way to teach to there interests.

Crazy that everyone is Leaving on there missions! I am so excited for Braden and I will be emailing him pretty soon while he is out in the field.

Funny Story:

On Friday we were teaching lesson at the church building and we had to leave quickly and I left the keys in the room we were using. We came back 2 hours later to get them and they were gone. The building was all clean so we assumed that someone picked it up while they were cleaning.

We called the bishop and asked him and he said that he found them and locked them in his drawer. Those keys had the apartment keys and a church key. So we then stayed the night at the zone leaders and we were just going to get a member of the bishopric to open the drawer at the baptism we had on Saturday. Then went to the baptism and the 1st Counselor did not have the keys... so we stayed the night again at the zone leaders. We then went to church the next day with no suit and got the keys from the bishop.

Mama,

That fire looks intense. Is it way worse than the fires we get every year? Are you going to be evacuated? 

We just finished a great week this week. We found new people to teach and we had a couple of our friends come to church with us. We have a few good chinese friends, that we are teaching and they took us around the Glasgow university. It looks like the Harry Potter school. Our friend took us to a hidden computer lab that was completely empty, and as we walked in he said in his hilarious broken engrish. "This is my Kingdom." It was funny.

However he will be going to Germany for a few weeks. 

The weather has been quite crazy. It has been warm and rainy so there has been a few thunderstorms. 

One of the shortcuts we use to get around in the Botanic Gardens near our flat. It is a pretty big garden area with a few walking trails. It is quite cool to go from a concrete jungle to an actual jungle just to walk home.

Tourists Galore

Hiya,

   Spencer is gonzo, that is soo crazy. He will have a great time! We are doing good work here in Glasgow. It is fun trying to navigate around on buses and walking. I am trying to learn my way around this place. It has been an adventure so far. 

    We cover a massive portion of the city, and we have the city center and all 3 major universities. We speak to a lot of tourists though so that can sometimes be hard. We meet all sorts of interesting people. 

I am in a ward of about 80. It is a pretty big change for me to have 8 missionaries in a ward with me. It is fun to see each other. We get to meet the people they are teaching as well. 

   Today for P-day we are going to play ping pong with a bunch of people so it should be fun!

Hello Everyone!

     This has been one of the most eventful weeks for a while. Moved into a big city that has 14 missionaries running around here. There are 6 missionaries in our ward. We bus everywhere and there are so many diverse people here. We are teaching Chinese, Indian, African, Brazilian, English, and Scottish. Yesterday we baptized a man named S who actually lives in the zone that I just came from. However, there are no missionaries in his area so we were teaching him. He is really great and was excited to be baptized.

   We went to church with him so I have not even been to the ward I am serving in (Springboig Ward). 

We are teaching a lot of great people and are excited to find many more new people.

On To the Big Leagues!

Hey Mama,

I am moving to Glasgow. Right in the city center, I am on special assignment as a YSA missionary. I will be working with YSA. I am really excited to see the biggest city in the mission. I am also a little sad to leave this little town of Greenock. I will miss the branch and the people. But, I am not going too far from here, so they said they might come see me in Glasgow. I am going to miss being next the the coast, but I will like being in a bustling city again. My companion is named Elder Parson, he is from England. I have heard good things about him. I am also sad that I am not with my fellow Californian, but Things will be good.  

Also there is a five guys in Glasgow!

Hey Mama,

I have heard a lot of passionate Scotsmen talk about the vote and there is a lot of big changes happening, but I dont know what it means for us. I have not heard a lot about it from the mission home. 

  The weather has actually been pretty nice, but on Saturday we went to Dunoon and the weather is really nice and sunny. I was wearing my short sleeved shirt. As we were taking the ferry back into Greenock we could see that Greenock was completly being destroyed with rain. We were going streight into the storm. We got off the boat and into was raining harder than I have ever seen in my entire life. It was not even raindrops it was like full sheets of water. Of course I was in my short sleeved shirt. We had like a 45 minute walk back to our flat because no transportation was running because of the rain. 

   We ended up calling our mission leader and got a lift from him, haha. You never know with Scotland weather.

  We have our moves call next Sunday and I hope I dont get moved, this area needs us for a little longer. I don't want to leave yet and Elder Flynn and I are doing really great here. 

It is so good to hear about Nelson and Charlie! I can't wait to see them again.

Boats and Baptisms

We have had a really great week, we have a friend who is pressing forward towards her baptismal date. She has a couple weeks to get some things done. I am so excited. We should have a great week next week. We got some good friends here in Greenock. We have a great new district. We have sister missionaries from Finland and Zambia. And and Elder from Hungry. They are all so fun and our district had a killer week. Later today we are going to visit a man who lived in Victorville California for a while. He loves California. He likes to work on cars, so we have good conversations. 

I am happy to see how peoples lives can change. That is my favorite thing about what we are doing.

I spoke in Church on sunday about scripture study. It was actually pretty fun, because I was just talking to my friends. There was no pressure.

Hey Mama 

    We had a pretty fun week. The weather is starting to get bad again, but last Saturday it was way nice. There was a boat show/race. It was pretty cool. There was a guy we met who was racing for kawasaki, he was from Miami. It was pretty cool to watch we also talked to a lot people, because there was probably like ten-thousand people there. It was pretty cool to meet people from all over. 

   Sunday we had someone come with us to church and he really enjoyed it. There was a massive cruise ship which had a lot of americans on it. There were a lot of visitors at church on Sunday. 

   We have a pretty good week planned ahead, we have a zone meeting tomorrow and a baptismal interview, and a baptism. Should be good.
