To the Mother Ship!

Mother I moved AGAIN!?! It shocked us hardcore, but I am moving to be the new YSA district leader in Edinburgh. I am going to the Flagship of the mission. I go to church with all the office staff and there are 10 missionaries in our ward. I have a Chinese speaking missionary as a companion, his name is Elder Donovan he is from Utah. He is really funny and is doing well with his Chinese. We teach a lot of chinese people which is always fun. We have a super nice flat, with an amazing shower so that makes the day nicer. Also Elder McDaniel stayed in Londonderry and they ended baptising the lady we were teaching. I am a little sad that I missed it but I am happy to be in another big city. I left my camera charger in Derry so my camera is dead so I will send more photos next week!

Sorry for missing emailing had a lot of traveling.

En Guard!

Hey Mama 

   The weather is starting to get colder and there is more rain. It is crazy how this is going to be the second winter on my mission. That is crazy about the Irish girl! You should ask which Dublin ward she was in. Moves call is next Sunday and knowing my luck I will probably be moving again, but I dont think so. We were supposed to have a baptism this week but we needed to push it back until after conference weekend. I am very excited to listen to conference, it is way better on the mish. We did fencing today for P-Day with a member who is a fencing coach. It is pretty funny to smack each other with a sword. The University is starting up now and we are starting to speak to more foreigners which is good. Hope you all are having a great week!

Missionary Cookies

Sounds like an Incredible week. Weeks are just flying by like crazy. Next transfer I will be hitting the year mark! 

We have had a great week. It was crap weather but we found some really great people. We are hoping to have a baptism in a couple of weeks. We had a miracle find. Mainly because we found a Filipino lady in Derry?! Luckly there are a few Filipinos in the ward. We are so excited for the success we are seeing. But, moves call is sneaking up on us. We should be staying but no one knows for sure what is going to happen. We are really setting this area on fire even the downpour of rain cant stop us. We got to teach young mens yesterday in church and it was pretty fun. I remember when the missionaries used to sit in on our class when we wouldnt have a teacher. That was a reminder that I am one of those people that wear a name badge and are from some foreign place. 

   Pray for us and those that we are teaching.

Oh and we made cookies for our neighbors and they were absolutely awful.

Pigeon Whisperer

Mama,

   Hey thank you for the Talk you sent me I have heard it and wanted to read it again. I used it when I spoke in sacrament meeting. Elder McDaniel and I are working harder and harder now that we know our area pretty well. We are teaching everybody and are looking for those who are prepared. On Saturday we went and bought an ice cream cone from this nice lady in an Ice Cream truck. We had a good chat with her and she said she was pretty interested. She told us to come back and see her. So yesterday we went back to the van and taught her through the window and she loved it. We are definitely seeing the miracles especially when we talk to and teach everyone. 

   Elder McDaniel is like a weird animal whisperer, it must be an Idaho thing. He was able to telepathically control the pigeons in the city center. Everyone loved it and were taking pictures. Haha  Good times.

Back To Ireland!

I am so proud of all of the boyz. There is a common theme that all missionaries that come from Southern California are automatically beasts. 

I AM MOVING AGAIN!?

I am on a new assignment. I will be whitewash training into a closed area.  

I am a little nervous, but I am very excited. I leave tonight for Edinburgh, pick up the baby and I am going to LondonDerry. It is a pretty big city in Northern Ireland. I am going to the third country of my mission. 

I was not expecting the move however I am totally excited to train a new missionary. 

We will be figuring out a new area and that should be fun.

Hey mama,

  Glasgow is going great! This transfer flew by! This Sunday is our moves call! It feels like i have been here 5 days not 5 weeks! We are pretty busy so that is why it went quickly. We have had a busy week. We had a conference in Edinburgh with all the missionaries in Scotland, it was fun to see all my past companions and friends. Got  to see all my previous companions (except for Elder Blosil he is home). We heard from a native Scotsman, Elder Herbertson of the Seventy. He shared some funny mission stories and we learned a lot about missionary work.

   Sunday we had a great day at church. We had a few of our friends there and it was testimony meeting. One of the people we brought to church bore his testimony. It was a cool experience. He then invited everyone in the ward to his baptism on the 27th and asked for advice. 

   Sunday evening we went back to Edinburgh for a fireside in the mission home. The previous mission president spoke a lot about the Book of Mormon. We had a couple recent converts and some investigators there as well.

We had a pretty exciting week and I am anxious about moves, but whatever happens, happens.

Hello Mama

Is the world still on fire? 

I am doing well, but I would be doing a lot better if I spoke fluent Chinese. There are so many Chinese students that are curious and want to learn about God. It can sometimes be hard to teach them the concept of a loving Heavenly Father when they have no concept of God. They are good though. They love to come to play ping pong at the church on our P day. It is a good way to teach to there interests.

Crazy that everyone is Leaving on there missions! I am so excited for Braden and I will be emailing him pretty soon while he is out in the field.

Funny Story:

On Friday we were teaching lesson at the church building and we had to leave quickly and I left the keys in the room we were using. We came back 2 hours later to get them and they were gone. The building was all clean so we assumed that someone picked it up while they were cleaning.

We called the bishop and asked him and he said that he found them and locked them in his drawer. Those keys had the apartment keys and a church key. So we then stayed the night at the zone leaders and we were just going to get a member of the bishopric to open the drawer at the baptism we had on Saturday. Then went to the baptism and the 1st Counselor did not have the keys... so we stayed the night again at the zone leaders. We then went to church the next day with no suit and got the keys from the bishop.

Mama,

That fire looks intense. Is it way worse than the fires we get every year? Are you going to be evacuated? 

We just finished a great week this week. We found new people to teach and we had a couple of our friends come to church with us. We have a few good chinese friends, that we are teaching and they took us around the Glasgow university. It looks like the Harry Potter school. Our friend took us to a hidden computer lab that was completely empty, and as we walked in he said in his hilarious broken engrish. "This is my Kingdom." It was funny.

However he will be going to Germany for a few weeks. 

The weather has been quite crazy. It has been warm and rainy so there has been a few thunderstorms. 

One of the shortcuts we use to get around in the Botanic Gardens near our flat. It is a pretty big garden area with a few walking trails. It is quite cool to go from a concrete jungle to an actual jungle just to walk home.
